Once I was in Fiji and found myself in a local store.  I was talking to the cashier and a young brother heard me and asked, "Are you a nigga?"  He seemed to be so proud to meet, in his eyes, a real and genuine "nigga."  The US media is a powerful and, in many ways, very destructive thing.
