Family, I am in Amsterdam but I am not very happy.  I made the mistake of booking a hotel far from the city center.  No shops, no restaurants, few Black people around here and the hotel staff is rather surly.  The good thing is that I am only here overnight.  Tomorrow I will try and compensate for my sad state of affairs today by visiting the newly refurbished Rijksmuseum.  Indeed, I am inspired to develop a new presentation on the Kmtyw presence in Dutch and Flemish art.  I hate not to be productive.  So at least this day is an opportunity to rest a little and reflect a lot.  Tomorrow I head to England where I do four presentations in four days.  Then I head to Canada and I am really looking forward to it.  Hope that your day is a blessed one!
