Let's get it! I actually am out the last two days. Hurt my back or better yet my back is stiff probably from track this weekend sitting in those hard bleachers.  Gonna work it out and get back on my grind today.

Back on track thought I was having heartburn/GERD referred pain to my shoulder blade region. (Which is possible but not my issue). Apparently I pulled/strained a muscle while trying to learn how to swim. Here I am trying to learn how to save my life if something pops off and I ended up hurting myself. Smh
Today's morning workout was aerobics. I plan to hit the gym this afternoon, maybe use the stair master. Breakfast is a spinach, blueberry, banana,  apple smoothie. Lots of water planned for today.

Are you sure that was heartburn and not angina? Radiation like that is unusual with heartburn. Was there associated shortness of breath? Sweating? Palpitations? Fatigue? Was the pain a pressure or tight sensation? Do you eat animal products or smoke? Was it brought on by exertion? Relieved by rest?

Best eat raw vegan with high levels of antioxidants to reverse the symptoms and the disease process itself. The diet that causes heartburn also causes coronary artery disease. If you are having symptoms of heartburn and are not vegan and smoke you probably are at risk for coronary artery disease.

A juice fast would be optimal for addressing either problem. Not going to see your MD who only has drugs and tests to offer both of which have little to no real effect on the disease process.

Hi. So initially it was diagnosed as heartburn. I had two EKGs done on 6/1. My heart checked out fine. I'm not vegan but eat very little meat or dairy these days.  Maybe once a week if that. I had about a 2 week long reprieve from any symptoms and pain. (Never had sweats, palpitations or anything). I was drinking green smoothies and eating low acid fruits like mango and banana. I also ate oatmeal and quinoa. I assumed the back pain was heartburn coming back, but it looks like it was a completely separate issue. In hindsight, my trap muscles are historically very weak.  The doctor told me the extent of pain I was feeling wasn't related to any esophageal woes. The back pain was a separate issue from the GERD.  I think my swim training was the culprit.  I'm certainly gonna keep an eye on it. I try to avoid pharmaceuticals at all costs. But heating pad, massage and the use of a tennis ball for trigger point release didn't work either.  Either way. I'll just focus on lower body exercises until I can get my back together. Thanks for the reply!

I HAVE GREAT NEWS.

I finally found the reason for my  stubborn weight.

At the start of this challenge I completely eliminated all non-live vegetable foods except the first two weeks  I allowed myself 4 cheat foods: occasional vegan yogurt, hummus, guacamole, and organic gluten free red hot blue corn chips.

With the exception of the incredibly healthy homemade guacamole, I looked at these as transitional foods, similar to how meat eaters use mock meats to transition off of carnivorous diets without backsliding.

Ask for the chips, I knew they had canola oil which I dont normally consume, but turns out the blue corn chips have TORULA UEAST which is another form of MSG.  OUTRAGEOUS! Actively it was turning everything I ate including all the nutrient Rich vegetables into sludge that was keeping me fat even though I was only eating them a couple of times a week.

It's why I was still fat in spite of the fact that I ramped up my exercise from 0 times a week to 4 or 5 times a week. It's why I was still fat in spite of increasing my water intake from almost none daily to 50 to 70 Oz daily. It's why I was still fat even though I was consuming a diet that consisted of about 95% nutrient drinks, fruit, live vegetables, and cooked vegetables.

I cut out the chips last week. So when I got to my birthday I had only lost 5 lb but gained back 3.

At my weigh in today I lost a total of 12 pounds. Down from 171.5 to 159.5.

I'm 170 (The heaviest I've ever been) and 45 pounds over weight and obese by definition.

That changes tomorrow!

Weekend workout update.
Did some circuit and Zumba with one of the best instructors I've ever taken classes with. She did high impact cardio, salsa, samba, Bachata, merengue...

Feeling Great!

The brother in the picture was one of the only two men in the class. 60 years old and he was jamming. Much respect for him. Had to get them in a pic.
