Family, I am in Suriname.  And I have just finished my first two bowls of peanut soup.  It was delicious!  I have already had my first Surinamese beer and my first Surinamese soft drink.  And I am hanging out with members of the local Creole community.  So it is an experience!  Many blessings sisters and brothers.  In a few hours, and hopefully a good, albeit short, rest I head into the interior to meet with the Maroons.  I am  told that I will sleep in a hammock!  What a life!
