"My presentation on Great Black Women gives us a chance to define and reflect on what we mean when we say great Black women.  Sometimes we instinctively associate greatness with fame or wealth.  But I always thought that my mother, who worked much of her life as a domestic, but who raised a bunch of children who never went hungry and were always well-clothed, personified greatness.  What is a great Black woman?  I think that we need to look at that.  I am also in the middle of some exciting research on the Black Madonnas of eureurasia.  I am surely going to include some of that.  And I will surely raise the importance of why myself as a Black man feels the need to do such a presentation.  So, there it is.  And the photos will be great."
