Family, today was a short day in Paramaribo for me.  And I have no complaints.  It is a national holiday celebrating the Dutch abolition of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.  Most of the city is shut down.  And it is very hot!  I spent my afternoon on the outskirts of the city with brother Ramon Hooplot having lunch with a female captain of the Samaaka Maroons.  Compared to the anti-Kmtyw idiots I was with yesterday, she was truly a breath of fresh air.  She gave me so much more clarity on the relationships between the Samaaka, Njduka and other Maroon groups.  And she breathed love of Kmt.  Indeed, she said in a loud voice, "I am an Kmtyw!"  Just what I needed to hear!  To be Kmtyw, or not to be!  Now, I am back in my apartment and have a bunch to fresh mangoes and bananas to feast on!  Have a blessed day!
