Family, I hate to argue.  And debating is not a favorite with me with either.  I don't mind a good discussion, or even an opposing point of view, especially if the discussion is respectful.  But if it becomes contentious, an argument for argument's sake or if I just see that we are leagues apart, I am out of here and bid you go in peace.  Call it the evolution or devolution of a historian.  Indeed, I think that is why I leaned more towards being a historian than a pure political activist.  I am more inclined to give people the middle finger, say goodbye and shut it down.  I enjoy people with open minds and who are humble enough to want to learn.   I hate to argue, especially with people who either know everything or would have you believe they know everything.
