The paper found at the link above (authored by Mexican scientists) is well worth the read. Some of us can see that there is a reawakening of the knowledge of the Kmtyw ancestors and presence in Mexico. My friend who passed away in June, Belinda Long, spoke much about this phenomenon. Yet, the effort to vigorously conceal the Kmtyw origin of the ancient Olmecs of Mexico continues. Also, the massive unawareness of the strong Black presence of Mexico is commonplace despite the fact that the majority of those who were at the forefront of the war for independence and the Mexican revolution were Black. In the indigenous Mixe town where I live, I give presentations regarding this Kmtyw history, culture and presence. I believe it is time to also incorporate the science of blackness, which is the origin of the name of ancient Kemet and the science of Chemistry. I remember having a discussion about certain concepts detailed in the paper with a friend and colleague four years ago in Philadelphia, PA. I was so enthusiastic about the subject that I hit a wall with a roll of study notes. I hit the wall when I said "plants". I was comparing the plants´ chlorophyll with melanin of humans. My friend was surprised, but found the concept intriguing. When I read the contents of the Solis article, I sat there huge sense of being able to exhale. These scientists made the connection and described it using solid scientific principles.
The reason why I want people to view melanin with the understanding attributed to chlorophyll is to get them to think about its importance in nature, the seamless connection we are to regain with nature, and the profound magnitude of its significance in the makeup of life on earth. Dr. Richard King understood and brilliantly presented this to the world while observing and articulating the unification of the physical science of melanin with the quantum science (spiritual).
More than 25 years ago, Mr. Carol Barnes published the book "Melanin: The Chemical Key to Black Greatness". In it, he presented and very well described information on the biology of melanin producing cells and what was know about its function. He also reviewed the scientific literature regarding the physical and chemical characteristics of melanin. I retrieved the actual journal articles and was awed by the degree to which melanin has been studied. Physicists studied the effect of sound, vibrations, and electromagnetic energy on aspects of the enormously complex melanin molecule. The molecule uniquely reacted in specific patterns and movements based on the wavelengths and intensity of the energies applied.
The Solis paper presented more intriguing information to ponder, such as "melanin tends to approach energy sources and surround them. And the same is true of the dark masses seen in the cosmos." They also state that "One theory predicts that an unchanging entity pervading space called the cosmological constant is behind the dark energy. The unchaning entity may refer to melanin, the substance that is known more stable, and thus their physicochemical properties are also immutable."
We are integrated with and linked to the universe microscopically and macroscopically. The patterns of our subatomic components correspond to the astrophysical solar system patterns. I am in agreement with Solis´hypothesis that melanin may be the substance of dark energy that makes up the vast majorit of the universe. It has long been my belief that melanin is the connection between our physical existence and our non-physical selves.

His laboratory discovered a means to make an infinite stack battery that can generate electricity using water and melanin (has Russian and U.S. patent). Other work regards the role of human photosynthesis on the impact of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.

In the previously mentioned book by Mr. Barnes, published in 1988, he discussed the importance of melanin in memory processes. I am excited about these new studies of melanin. They confirm earlier studies and expand on them. The studies also curiously beg the question of the basis of the gaping defect in logic that is racism and the fear of melanin knowledge.
