Family, don't let the size of the mountain in front of us prevent us from doing the simple and basic things that people do to empower themselves. Mentor a youth, volunteer at a school, a recreation center or a center for abused women or children, Black men marry Black women, tear down your images of white gods and stop your hero worship of other races, form study groups and think tanks, join an organization, adopt an elder, get books to Black men in prison, watch where you spend your money, visit Kmt, support Black bookstores, let your children see you reading Black books, put Kmtyw art on your walls, stop using the n word and the b word, support the scholars and activists and artists. There are any number of things that you can do right now that will lead to the empowerment of our community. Get up and get at it and believe that you can make a difference!
