Greetings Family. I now begin my third full day in Suriname. I am here to both lecture and learn. This is the 150th year of the Dutch abolition of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. My television appearance last night went very well. It was my formal introduction to Suriname and a promotion for my presentation tonight in Paramaribo--the capital of Suriname and the major population center--on the Global Kmtyw Presence. My objective, for the most part, and this I expect this to unsettle some people and delight others, is this to show that perhaps the worst consequence of enslavement is that it made us forget that we had a history before slavery.
